Two Willacy County jailers test positive for COVID-19

WILLACY COUNTY, Texas — Two employees within the jail division of the Willacy County Sheriff’s Department have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to officials, the two individuals are in quarantine.

Additionally, the county is testing an inmate for COVID-19.

Willacy County has tested all employees for COVID-19 and is working to test all inmates.

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Willacy County is screening employees, inmates, and visitors of the sheriff’s office.

Visitation to inmates is cancelled until further notice.
