EDINBURG, Texas – Two men are arraigned in an apparent drug robbery gone wrong. The incident occurred in rural Weslaco that left one man dead.
Jonathan Gonzalez and Noel Alvarado were arraigned this afternoon. The shooting happened around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday near Mile 6 and Durango Drive. Alvarado is accused of breaking and entering into the home of Jonathan Gonzalez along with his brother, Emmanuel Alvarado, who was shot and killed after allegedly attempting to steal drugs and money from the residence.
Gonzalez was charged with failure to report a felony resulting in death. As well as tampering with physical evidence for a total bond of $40,000. Alvarado was given a $1 million bond and charged with Capital Murder.
