BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Texas Southmost College is expanding its services to Mexican citizens in Brownsville.
The local collage signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mexican Consulate in order to provide comprehensive education resources for the Mexican community. In short TSC has agreed to set up information kiosks and staff at the Mexican Consulate to inform visitors about higher education, registration and scholarships.
Dr. Jesus Roberto Rodriguez, TSC President, “The Mexican Consulate is our long time partner. So we meet with them to try to provide better services to our communities. This is one of the partnerships that we decided to explore and bring into existence.”
The program is formally known as “Ventanilla de Orientación Educativa.”
Today’s agreement marks the 39th time this program has been implemented in the United States between higher learning institutions and Mexican consular offices.
