BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Tram season is back at Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge.
Starting Saturday, Feb. 15 visitors can ride on a 15-mile-long guided tour along the local animal sanctuary. And even if you’re not much of an outdoors person, organizers hope to share some of the last remaining, undisturbed habitats of the Rio Grande Valley.
Christopher Quezada, Visitor Services Ranger, “It really shows people what the Valley looks like other than what we’re typically used to seeing in the fields with mesquite. We can see bobcats, we can see deer, many, many species of birds and if you’re very fortunate, you might get lucky and see an ocelot.”
The wildlife refuge will be conducting two tours on weekends starting at 8:30 am. and 1:00 p.m. Tours will run from now until March.
