CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $104,000 in currency on Nov. 20 after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Kleberg County.

At about 7:54 a.m., a DPS Trooper stopped the driver of a White Chrysler 300. The vehicle was traveling south on U.S. 77 north of Riviera and stopped for a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the trooper subsequently discovered three vacuum-sealed clear packages of U.S. currency totaling $104,816 underneath the front passenger seat.
