BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Charro Days in Brownsville is a week away. It’s a tradition that was started more than 80 years ago with a simple idea in the mind of one person. A big party for all to enjoy and celebrate Mexican traditions along the border. Cameron County Historical Commissioner Gene Fernandez tells us how one man helped inspire one of the most colorful border fiestas.
