Three people arrested and charged in illegal gambling raid in Edinburg

Deputies arrested three people and seized 68 gambling machines in connection to an illegal gambling investigation in Edinburg, according to a news release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. 

Investigators executed a search warrant at a building located on State Highway 107 west of Farm-to-Market 493 Wednesday afternoon.

Upon arrival, deputies seized 68 gambling machines and about $7,900 in cash, according to the news release.

During the raid, three people were arrested and charged:

Mirna Gomez, 46.

> Keeping a gambling place
> Promotion of a gambling place
> Possession of a gambling device/equipment/paraphernalia 

Her bond was set at $30,000.

Hector Garza, 44. 

> Keeping a gambling place
> Promotion of a gambling place
> Possession of a gambling device/equipment/paraphernalia

His bond was set at $30,000.

Michael Morse, 37.

> Possession of a controlled substance
> Prohibited weapon

His bond was set at $15,000.

All three remained in the Hidalgo County jail Thursday evening and could not be reached for comment.
