Thief breaks into bicycle shop for the second time

Local News

A thief has hit Brownsville’s Bike Barn again, getting away with a bicycle meant to help the community.

The bike in particular was meant for kids to pick up recyclables. According to one of the Bike Barn’s representatives, burglaries have become common. They’re frustrated and need the community to speak up.

Rose Timmer from Healthy Communities of Brownsville says, “But it’s just very disturbing that there are few bad apples in our city that are doing this we sure could use a security system we could use cameras we could use any of a number of things to make it safe for the rest of the kids that come here.”

If you’d like help with donations for a security system, you can find them on Facebook. Now, the Bike Barn isn’t sure if it’s the same thief stealing bikes, tools and damaging the property. If you have information call Brownsville Police.
