BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Many students looking to get into law enforcement are getting the opportunity to connect with people already working in the field.
Middle school, high school, and college students working towards a criminal justice program, got to see first hand what fields they can dive into once they graduate. Over 25 law enforcement agencies from local, state and federal level were there to speak to students one on one about what they do on a daily basis.
Dr. Christopher Aviles, TSC Criminal Justice Program coordinator, “It gives the opportunity to bring these two worlds together. A lot of students they do not have, well they don’t know what they want to do when they first start in criminal justice. This gives them the opportunity to explore and meet their heroes and for their heroes to meet them.”
Aviles adds that law enforcement is always looking for people to join their teams. This law enforcement expo is a great way to see what fields they are interested in.
