BROWNSVILLE – The Texas Southmost College Board of Trustees announced the extension of remote learning through the fall 2020 semester.
Valuing the health and safety of the students, faculty and staff the Board has chosen to continue serving students remotely in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, said the college’s press release.
TSC’s instructional team had already been oriented towards enhancing the college’s online instruction by working to certify more faculty using Quality Matters standards with the ultimate goal of maintaining high quality instruction.
In addition, the Student Services staff quickly pivoted to provide services such as advising, career exploration, and TSI testing via videoconferencing.
The college said these initiatives are designed to support TSC’s mission of transforming communities through innovative learning opportunities and are preparing the college to thrive in the new environment being experienced as a result of the pandemic.
Registration for the fall semester is currently underway. The fall semester begins Aug. 24.
