The Texas Medical Board (TMB) temporarily suspended the Texas medical license of Jimmi Rios-Perez, M.D. on Friday.

The suspension comes after the board determined his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare.

The suspension was effective immediately.

According to a release, the TMB found that Dr. Rios-Perez is the subject of several criminal complaints made to the McAllen Police Department by three patients and two employees alleging inappropriate conduct and sexual assault.

Additionally, the panel found that Dr. Rios-Perez violated his 2018 Agreed Order requiring him to have a chaperone present during the examination of a patient.

A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days’ notice to Dr. Rios-Perez unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Rios-Perez.

The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action, said the release.

Dr. Rios-Perez operated as a Obstetrician and gynecologist in McAllen.
