All abortions, orthopedic procedures and other non-life threatening procedures will be halted in Texas amid COVID-19 Pandemic.
An executive order issued by Gov. Greg Abbott prevented elective surgeries, which are defined by Texas Medical Board Guidance as any surgery where there is no anticipated short-term or long-term negative impact because of delaying a procedure or surgery.
Attorney General Ken Paxton clarified the statement, describing the halted surgeries as procedures that are “not medically necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.”
