Texas DPS Arrests Two People on Cocaine Possession

The Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents arrested two suspects on Tuesday, May 2 for possession of cocaine in Hidalgo County.

At about 5:30 p.m., a DPS Special Agent observed several indicators of criminal activity at a warehouse located at the 100 block International in Palmview. After searching the building, agents discovered boxes containing 133 packages of cocaine, weighing 323 pounds, worth an estimated $19 million. 

DPS arrested Jesus Salvador Gonzalez-Mendoza (25), Hernan Halil Mena-Real, 26, both of Jalisco, Mexico, on federal drug charges. Both suspects were transported and booked into the San Juan Police Department jail.
