Tasty New Alternative For BISD High School Students

Local News

The Brownsville Independent School District is now giving their high school students another choice for breakfast. With their new taco truck, once a day every week, students can have tacos from a food truck delivered to them.

Mark Mullendore, BISD Food Nutrition Service Director said, “We are just trying to make more options available for the kids. We figured that this would be a fun option that’s totally different from eating in the cafeteria. They’re able to go outside and be served breakfast from a mobile from a truck or a bus and we just want to make it fun for the kids and give them another option for breakfast.”

The taco breakfast truck launched last week. It serves bacon and egg and ham and egg tacos. Potato and egg and chorizo and egg will be added to the menu in the future. The tacos are free for students.
