The State of Tamaulipas says that a 29-year-old man from Ciudad Madero has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a release, the State Public Health Laboratory of Tamaulipas conducted the test and the Institute of Diagnostics and Epidemiological Reference confirmed the case.
During a press conference on Monday, officials announced the 29-year-old patient had been in contact with another positive case in the community.
Health Secretary Gloria Molina Gamboa urges the population to stay at home if it is not necessary to leave.
“The most important thing is isolation, staying in our homes and being socially responsible inhabitants is the most effective way to prevent the virus from spreading,” officials said.
Officials announced that new recommendations will be issued to commercial chains to suggest the entrance of a single person per family to make purchases.
The state of Tamaulipas has reported five positive cases of COVID-19 and 29 negative cases.
