Weslaco, Texas (KVEO)— A Weslaco man was arraigned and charged on Wednesday in connection to a murder.
Angel Herrera, 23, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of murder in the first degree.
Weslaco police department responded to a call on the 2400 block of East 12th Street around 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive man in a car. He was quickly transported to Knapp Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as 36-year old Guadalupe Salinas Jr.
A manhunt was issued for Herrera, who was believed to be armed and dangerous. Weslaco Police arrested Herrera later that day.
Herrera’s bond was set at $810,000 on the four charges.
