A man is in custody in connection to a homicide in rural Peñitas. It happened on October 1 at a home in the 3900 block of Brittney street.
Investigators identified the homicide victim as 30-year-old Adaly Tellez Johnson, who was reportedly bludgeoned to death.
The suspect is 29-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez. He was in the custody of McAllen Police for unrelated charges when sheriff investigators located him.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said, “Our investigators met up with Gonzalez, who admitted to killing the victim during a domestic dispute earlier that morning.”
Eduardo Gonzalez was arraigned at the Hidalgo County Jail this afternoon. His bond was set at $1 million.
Sheriff Guerra says they’re still investigating a possible motive for the killing. He also said the suspect and victim were intoxicated at the time of the murder.
