Supreme Court decision fuels protests

Local News

From McAllen to Brownsville, protests continue across the valley after this morning’s Supreme Court ruling. Members from several pro-immigrant organizations and a few volunteers came out in support of the immigrant community. While some claim the recent split decision by the Supreme Court regarding DAPA and DACA is a set back to their community. Brownsville protestors claim that this decision unites them more than ever.

“The community is going to come together. we’re going to mobilize, we’re going to look for resources and skills that are going to help us become better stronger, louder and we are going to educate people on the importance of going to vote. Because in the end that’s where it all ends. It is the importance to go out to vote.

Along with their messages in support of Obama’s executive action, they warn local immigrants to fall victim to anyone that promises immediate legal status in exchange for money.
