Staying Cyber Secure during the holidays

Local News

MCALLEN, Texas – As more shoppers are turning to the internet for the famous Black Friday deals, the Better Business Bureau is warning shoppers this weekend of scammers.

According to the Better Business Bureau, last Black Friday made more than two billion dollars in online sales alone across the country.

Officials want you to keep your eyes open for those sales that may be too good to be true.

“Take time to go to the Better Business Bureau website and get a business profile on the business. Find out what the Better Business Bureau knows about that business, if there have been complaints, what complaints have been filed on that business, and how have those complaints been resolved,” said Dolores Salinas, the Better Business Bureau President.

Local 23 will have a complete report available Friday at 5 PM and 10 PM on how to keep from falling victim to fraudulent transactions this weekend.
