South Texas mother who put baby in acid appears in court for sentencing

South Texas parents have been sentenced after their child was found in a bucket of acid. Police said the two-year-old drowned while bathing without supervision before the body was disposed.

Monica Dominguez pleaded guilty to Tampering with Evidence, Endangering a Child and Abuse of Corpse. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Her husband Gerardo Zavala-Loredo pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 14 years for Tampering with a Human Corpse.

The woman was on probation for a 2016 incident that involved injury to her infant son.
