South Padre Island Still Taking Public Input For Comprehensive Master Plan

Local News

The City of South Padre Island continues to collect public input for a comprehensive master plan.

This type of project typically serves a roadmap for public policy in the upcoming decades.
This week many had a chance to speak with their local leaders face to face to voice their concerns and offer suggestions.

Fire Chief Doug Fowler – South Padre Island, “We are responsible for aspects of the comprehensive plan. Especially after the community has given us some direction and our elected officials have settled in on the policy. Then we implement the plan.”

City officials say it’s been almost 10 years since the plan was last updated. More public meetings are expected in the upcoming months. The final plan will be completed by the end of the year.
