Sheriff’s Office: 68-year-old murder suspect turns herself in

Update: Elizabeth Guerrero, 68, and 22-year-old Elizabeth Kassandra Morales have turned themselves in to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Division Chief Joel Rivera said Friday morning. 

Original story: Investigators issued an arrest warrant for a 68-year-old woman Thursday night, according to a news release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

Elizabeth Guerrero, 68, is accused of intentionally killing 20-year-old Gilberto Gaytan with a silver-colored 2002 Acura MDX SUV Thursday morning, according to the news release.

Investigators say 22-year-old Elizabeth Kassandra Morales and a two-year-old girl were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. A “child abduction alert” has been issued for two-year-old Lizandra Jennica Gaytan.

Investigators with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office found a man dead Thursday morning in northwest Hidalgo County.
The Sheriff’s Office dispatched deputies to Pradera Street — located on La Homa Road north of Mile 9 — at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, said Sgt. J.P. Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
They found a man dead on the street.
Witnesses reported a domestic disturbance on the road, but the incident remains under investigation.
