Sheriff: Traffic stop leads to seizure of nearly $1 million worth of cocaine

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) — The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office seize approximately $1 million of cocaine.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said deputies conducted a traffic stop. The officer noticed tampering to the tailgate of the vehicle.

Lucio said a K-9 officer alerted them to an area near the bumper, where officers then discovered a false door.

A search led to the discovery multiple bundles totaling to 21.5 kilos of cocaine, valued at approximately $1 million.

Officials arrested the driver, identified as Beatrice Carrizales from Brownsville.
