Sheriff: Shooter involved in rural Donna murder identified

Hidalgo County, Texas (KVEO)— The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office released new details on Wednesday on a shooting that left one man dead near Donna.

Deputies found 51-year-old Francisco Javier Guzman-Galindo dead after responding to the area of Mile 16 North Road and FM 493 in rural Donna.

Guzman was found in the passenger seat of a vehicle near Mile 12 ½ North Road and FM 493.

Javier de Salgado, also known as Pedro Silva Flores, was identified as the shooter involved in the murder of Guzman.

The driver, was identified as 35-year-old Miguel Angel Feliz Ojeda.

The Sheriff’s office believes the pair might have fled to Mexico. Warrants have been issued for both suspects for murder and criminal attempt capital murder.

Officials say the motive is still unclear at this time, but the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit is following up on several leads.
