The holiday season is in full swing at South Padre Island as the Holiday Sandcastle Village is now open to the public.
The village offers unique holiday sand sculptures. This includes: Santa’s sandy Christmas throne, a Sand Snowman and more. According to city’s Facebook page, the village is complete with a lighted musical performance.

It’s located at 106 W Marlin St., near Louie’s Backyard and Gravity Park. The exhibit runs through January 13 and is free for the public.
Other events at South Padre Island include:
- The tree lighting ceremony and annual Christmas parade on December 6.
- The annual lighted boar parade on December 7.
- Breakfast with Santa at the Hilton Garden Inn will also take place on December 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
