Road closure extended for Bicentennial Boulevard Extension Project

MCALLEN, Texas – The City of McAllen continues to move forward with the Bicentennial Boulevard road extension project. The city’s press release said construction of the roadway intersection of Auburn Avenue at Bicentennial Boulevard will continue to remain closed along Auburn Avenue.

The roadway has been closed to all through traffic between 23rd Street and Main Street since Monday, April 20. It was expected to reopen on Monday, May 25. The closure is now be extended to Tuesday, June 10. Residents will still be able to access their homes, said the press release.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along in the area. The public should expect some delays and congestion.
