Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—Republican state Senate candidate Vanessa Tijerina was arrested Thursday in Pharr for violating her protective order.

Acording to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s office, Tijerina was arrested around 11 a.m.

She was given a $1,000 cash security bond and was released Friday morning.

Tijerina was also arrested in June by the Raymondville Police Department at a Stars Drive-In on East Hidalgo Avenue.

Tijerina was charged with one count each of interference with public duties, drug paraphernalia and DWI.

A series of live videos posted to Tijerina’s Facebook page that evening shows a confrontation between her and Raymondville police officers in the parking lot of the Stars Drive-in.
