BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Preparations are underway in the Rio Grande Valley as part of a nationwide effort to end child poverty.
Known as Red Nose Day, the event looks to shine a spotlight on the need for programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated. It’s more than just awareness, since 2015 the campaign has raised over $150 million to help over 16-million children in America and around the world.
Today the Jubilee Academy in Brownsville is getting ready to host a school event.
Paola Moreno, assistant principal, “Jubilee Brownsville definitely wants to contribute to children that are underprivileged and the families who we want to do a contribution for.”
The Brownsville school will also have special presentations by the fire department and the county sheriff’s department. You can do your part to become an everyday hero with the purchase of a Red Nose at your local Walgreens or visit https://donation.rednoseday.org/
