(KGBT) — Officers arrested a 44-year-old Pharr, Texas woman last week after she admitted having sex with her daughter’s teenage boyfriend, according to court records.
The investigation started during August, when a woman called the Pharr Police Department.
Officers interviewed the woman, who said her son had sex with his girlfriend’s mother — Claudia Yaneth Lopez, 44, of Pharr, according to court records. The woman went through her son’s phone and found a suggestive text message.
The boy was younger than 17 years old, according to court records, which don’t include his exact age.
In September, officers took the boy to the Children’s Advocacy Center for a forensic interview.
The boy admitted having sex with Lopez, according to court records.
In October, officers interviewed Lopez, who confessed to having sex with the boy, according to court records.
Lopez is charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Lopez, who remains at the Hidalgo County jail and couldn’t be reached for comment.
