The Raymondville Independent School District is reporting that a student made a threat involving the use of a gun on Monday.
According to a post by Raymondville I.S.D., the threat was made by a student at Myra Green Middle School.
The district said that students reported the threat to the principal, who then removed the student from class and notified authorities.
School officials said that at no point was there a gun on campus.
Part of the notice, posted on Facebook said, “The purpose of this message is to inform the community of this incident and to assure students, parents, and staff that there is no ongoing threat. The incident was isolated and handled immediately. The campus administration and Raymondville I.S.D. Police are working together to assure that the campus continues to be a safe learning environment.”
There’s no word yet on what type of punishment the student may face.
