Queen Isabella Bridge now open, cause of alarm trigger under investigation

PORT ISABEL, Texas – The strong winds suspected for a temporary closure of the Queen Isabella Causeway. Traffic at a standstill for about two hours this morning after a power outage caused alarms to go off on the causeway’s emergency system. The Texas Department of Transportation inspected the bridge as a precautionary measure. The official cause of the outage remains under investigation.
