PHARR – The Pharr San Juan Alamo Independent School District announced eight seniors we among a select group awarded the Dream.US National Scholarship.
The district’s press release said TheDream.US helps more than 6,000 highly motivated DREAMers graduate from college with career-ready degrees. TheDream.US is the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers.
Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated the academic potential and determination needed to succeed in college and life.
The district said while seven students from PSJA Memorial Early College High School and one from PSJA North Early College High School were selected, only the following opted to be recognized:
PSJA Memorial ECHS
- Angela Rodriguez – graduated with a Phlebotomy Certification from RGV College
- Karen Hernandez – graduated with 26 college hours from South Texas College
- Luis Gomez Cruz – graduated with 45 credit hours from South Texas College
- Nestor Cano De La Rosa – graduated with 41 college hours from South Texas College
The National Scholarship Award will cover tuition and fees up to a maximum of $14,500 for an Associate Degree and $29,000 for a Bachelor’s Degree, at one of their Partner Colleges, said the district’s press release.
