Progreso officer arraigned on charges of sexual assault, violation of civil rights

A Progreso officer is on the other side of the law after he was arraigned on two felonies on Wednesday afternoon.

Matthew Sepulveda was arraigned on violation of civil rights on a person in custody and sexual assault.

Total bond for both counts was set at $225,000.

Few details were released but Hidalgo County Sheriff’s investigators say the incident involved a suspect in custody.
