Pregnant Officer Loses Baby After Accidental Shooting In McAllen

On Friday a pregnant off duty officer was shot at her home in McAllen Texas. She was rushed to the hospital and stabilized, but unfortunately the unborn child lost it’s life. 

Jesus Avides Campos, boyfriend of the officer, is suspected of the accidental shooting. The preliminary report states that the shooting occurred while Jesus was handing a long barrel weapon.

He was detained and may be charged with related offenses. Related offenses may include,  negligent homicide and aggravated assault. Homicide charges will relate to the death of the fetus.

The shooting remains under investigation.
