A “politiquera” has pleaded guilty to her role in the “coke for votes” scheme during the November 2012 election for the Donna ISD school board.

Belinda Solis appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Micaela Alvarez on Thursday morning.

Solis pleaded guilty to a criminal information for her role in the scheme.

Solis is accused of participating in a scheme to give baggies of cocaine to voters in races for Donna ISD school board seats during November 2012 general election.

Election records show that incumbents Ernesto Lugo, Alfredo Lugo, Mike Flores and Nick Castillo all kept their seats on the school board during the election.
