SAN JUAN, Texas – Two alleged kidnapping suspects remain jailed. According to the Monitor, “The San Juan Police Department rescued the woman and arrested 29-year-old Edinburg resident Jesus Daniel Lugo and 39-year-old Pharr resident Brian Jose Hernandez on aggravated kidnapping charges.”
Hidalgo County Jail records confirm, Lugo and Hernandez are charged with aggravated kidnapping. The records show the duo were booked on December 26th, 2019.
The Monitor reports from probable cause affidavits at around 8:20 p.m. on Christmas Day, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a property west of Raul Longoria Road on Business 83. At the property, San Juan Police discovered a beige Mercedes Benz SUV. The vehicle matched the description of an SUV believed to be the car used to kidnap a woman Christmas night from the Progreso port of entry parking lot.
According to probable cause records, obtained by the Monitor, “The men later told sheriff’s investigators that they didn’t know the woman and that they took her from the Progreso port of entry.”
Jail records do not show bond amounts.
