Police: 1-year-old child fell from second-story window in Harlingen — and survived

Police arrested the baby’s mother on suspicion of injury to a child. She’s scheduled for arraignment Monday afternoon.

Update: Police charged the baby’s mother, 25-year-old Brook Ashley Wise, with injury to a child, a second-degree felony.

A judge set bond at $35,000.

Original Story: Harlingen police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after her 1-year-old child fell from a second-story window.

The baby apparently fell from a building on the 500 block of East Davis Street, according to information provided by Officer Larry Moore, a spokesman for the Harlingen Police Department. The baby suffered head injuries, but survived the fall.

Police arrested the baby’s mother on suspicion of injury to a child. She’s scheduled for arraignment Monday afternoon.
