Several people were shot Sunday morning at Jaguars — the all-nude strip club in Edinburg.

At about 5 a.m., several people were shot at Jaguars, according to information provided by Assistant Police Chief Oscar Trevino. One person died and multiple people were injured.

Details about the shooting weren’t immediately available.

“We have an active crime scene and homicide investigation at this time,” Trevino said in a text message.

Police Chief David White declined to release any other information Sunday.

Located at 5021 W. State Highway 107 in Edinburg, Jaguars doesn’t sell alcohol. Patrons may bring their own beverages.

RCI Hospitality Holdings acquired both Jaguars strip clubs in the Rio Grande Valley — and nine others across Texas and Arizona — during October 2012, according to a news release. RCI paid $36 million.

During a recent presentation to investors, RCI touted the Jaguars brand as a “lively BYOB club for blue collar patrons and the college crowd.” The all-nude strip club advertises “25+ entertainers dancing on five stages for you all night.”

Before the acquisition, Jaguars employed off-duty police officers to provide security. Details about the current security arrangements weren’t available,
