Just in time for the summer heat leaders in Hidalgo County are unveiling a new sports park.
The grand opening for the county’s indoor sports complex in Pharr was held on Wednesday May 1.
Several leaders were in attendance including Pct. 2 Commissioner Eddie Cantu.
The complex will provide indoor, air conditioned baseball and softball facilities to residents free of charge.
“It’ll benefit obviously the kids, coaches, and parents that are participating in baseball, softball, and they are able to register online,” Cantu said. “And everyone is able to use the facility for free.”
The County has also hired a baseball coach to oversee the facility and offer free one-on-one hitting lessons.
