One man is charged in connection with a deadly December 2019 shooting in Palmview.

Francisco Antonio Griego was apprehended Monday in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal Service.

According to a release, back on Dec. 22, 2019, police were called out to the P and V Drive-Thru, located on the 100 block of South Minnesota Road in reference to a man with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they didn’t find the victim as he had been taken to the hospital by a personal vehicle. Officers later learned that the man died in the shooting.

Police said Griego was originally a person of interest, however, he was arraigned Monday and taken to the Hidalgo County Jail. His charges are unclear at this time.
