DPS identifies victim killed in car-pedestrian crash, search underway for vehicle

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating following a deadly car-pedestrian crash.

The crash occurred Monday night just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1925 and Sunflower Road.

DPS said a preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle hit a pedestrian before the vehicle fled the scene.

Authorities said the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on FM 1925.

The victim, Rodrigo Acuna Menendez, 25, of Edinburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

DPS said the vehicle of interest is described as a pickup pulling a trailer. However, troopers do not have a make and model of the vehicle.
