EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A boil water notice has been issued for Edinburg residents effective immediately, the City of Edinburg announced.
The notice is issued for residents and businesses located within West University Drive between Jackson Road and Mon Mack Road.

City officials estimate 45 households and 35 business within the affected area are advised to follow the boil water notice.
The notice is in response to a recent water leak incident that occurred Tuesday night at 10 p.m.
Homes and businesses in the affected area may also experience water service disruption for up to 24 hours while repairing the water leak, city officials noted.
The City of Edinburg asks residents and business in the affected area to do the following:
- Boil water for at least two minutes to eliminate potential contaminants
- Cool water after boiling before using it for drinking, cooking or other purposes
- Use bottled water if unable to boil water
