EDINBURG, Texas (KVEO) — Border Patrol Agents seized over $700,000 of drugs in the Rio Grande Valley in three separate incidents.
A release states agents working in Hidalgo saw several shoe prints north of the Rio Grande, which they then followed. This led them to the discovery of several bundles of marijuana in a brush. In total, agents seized 488 pounds, valued at $390,000.
Later, agents near Rosita, saw a vehicle driving at the river’s edge. Agents observed several individuals swimming towards Mexico after approaching the vehicle. Officials then discovered 92 pounds of marijuana in the near by area, valued at $74,000.
Also, agents seized eight pounds of cocaine in a separate incident, valued at $265,000.
