One Valley City Asks Residents To Evacuate

Local News

Six counties have been declared disaster areas by Governor Abbott.

Most of them the Valley counties. Many communities are still under water. The city of Palmview has asked some of their residents to leave. The evacuation orders didn’t sit well with some residents.

“That’s 32 years of my life right there that I’ve lost. Nobody going to give it back to me, it’s hard.” Says Palmview resident Jaime Cepeda.

But with the weekend here, many packed up to go see family. They’re hoping the water will recede enough to get into their homes come next week. They’ll see if they can clean up and salvage what they can.
