New Marketing Strategy for Metro Connect

Local News

One our valley’s public transportation options has launched a new marketing strategy for the Rio Grande Valley to see.

Metro Connect has existed for more than three years. Making more than 370,000 trips possible, the Blue Line gets you from Brownsville to South Padre Island, the Red Line to McAllen and the Orange Line from McAllen to Edinburg.

The music video is bilingual and showcases our valley people and their diverse backgrounds, from the elderly, to the young spring breaker to the UTRGV student. The transportation directors for Brownsville, South Padre Island and McAllen were present at the video release this morning.

Norma Zamora, Brownsville Transportation Director said, “Basically the people that have heard and been using this Metro Connect service has basically been through word of mouth, they just heard it from some other people. This is our first campaign to actually advertise this service to the community and the region.”

The marketing strategy was made possible through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.

You can watch the Metro Connect video on their Facebook RGV Metro Connect.
