Narcotics Seized at Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge

Local News

More than $100,000 worth of methamphetamine and marijuana were kept from crossing the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge.

Customs and Border Protection Officers found the narcotics hidden within a red 2000 Dodge Ram driven by 42-year-old Mexican citizen residing in Brownsville.

Thanks to the help of a non-intrusive imaging system and a K-9 unit, the officers discovered a total of 61 packages weighing about 4 pounds of meth and about 69 pounds of marijuana. The drugs, the vehicle, and the driver have all been turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
