Mission Library Hosts Book Festival

Local News

A Rio Grande Valley publishing company is teaming up with the Speer Memorial Library in Mission for a book festival on February 25.

For the first time, The Raving Press is making it possible for at least 20 authors and artists to meet in one place to share their work with the public. The event will be for all genre interests and will be in both English and Spanish.

Gabriel Sanchez, The Raving Press Editor said, “The added benefit of a festival like this is that we’re providing something that is unique, combined. All the arts. Film making, children’s books. We’re going to have a segment in poetry reading. We’re going to have a segment on theatre. A 30-minute theatre monologue.”

The book festival is free to the public of all ages. It will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
