MISSION, Texas – The Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees approved a new school calendar for the upcoming school year.
The approval came during a special meeting of the trustees Monday morning. The new calendar impacts the first day of school for students, several other dates during the year, and the ending of the school year, said the district.
The district said the first day of school for students will now be Tuesday, September 8. Teachers will officially begin on Friday, August 21. The last day of school is set for Friday, June 4, 2021. The last day of work for teachers will be Saturday, June 5, 2021.
District Superintendent Dr. Carol Perez stressed the importance of student and staff safety. During the planning the district said that plans are continually being updated as new guidance is provided by authorities.
The district said it will continue to focus on meeting the needs of all students, while also working towards providing services as safely as possible.
