McAllen Public Library creates 2020 reading challenge

MCALLEN, Texas (KVEO) — The McAllen Public Library announced the start of their summer reading challenge.

The library is encouraging children, teens and young adults to take part in the 2020 Virtual Summer Reading Challenge.

The challenge will begin on June 1 and will run until July 1.

The program consists of 10 different challenges and will have the opportunity to earn a prize.

“We’re excited to meet families where they are by bringing our popular Summer Reading Program to our patrons, wherever they may be,” said Kate Horan, Library Director in the release. “This year’s theme is Imagine Your Story and we invite families to join us for a summer of enrichment and fun.”

The library will have live streaming of their kick-off party on their Facebook page on June 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
