McAllen ISD Hosts Technology Initiative

Local News

The McAllen Independent School District is making an effort to integrate technology in all classrooms across the valley. Nearly 1,200 professors from McAllen ISD and other districts in the valley attended iPadpalooza at McAllen High School. The two day learning festival is a celebration of the cultural shift that iPads, Chromebooks and other forms of technology have brought in education and the world.

Ann Vega, “I think it’s crucial for teachers to understand that content always is the most important thing for students, and how we integrate technology to enhance that is important. We have a lot of digital learners, and we need for teacher to be able to give them the flexibility to create using these tools that we have.”

iPadpalooza South Texas will continue collaborating with other organizers of the event. The goal is to integrate more technology into classrooms in Texas and the nation.
